Meer Campbell
Relationships
Meer Campbell and Lacus Clyne:
This is one of Meer's most significant relationships,
although Meer is impersonating Lacus
the two had never met until toward the end of the series,
Meer simple viewed Lacus as an idol, a person who
was so well respected, known for her kindness and peace wanting.
That is what Lacus is considered in the Plants, Meer wanted to be Lacus
Clyne. She was a huge fan of hers, she was told her sang like
Lacus, and thus Meer looked up to Lacus.
When Gilbert Dullindal came and
offered Meer a chance to be Lacus Clyne, it was to great of an opportunity
to decline. Her dream to be her idol was given to her, though Meer knew she
wasn't Lacus, she became lost in herself in a way, living a life of luxury
and being respected by everyone was something she had only dreamed of, and
now it was true, she started believing she was Lacus Clyne.
When Meer and
Lacus first met, it was in episode 46, where Meer was supposed to have lead
Lacus into an assignation trap. Lacus looked at Meer with no hate what so
ever and told her that even if she had her face, and her name, she would
never be be her, because they were different people. As they hid from the
assassins Lacus came to Meer's aid, seeing a scared girl, comforting her.
Meer saw what Lacus was like for the first time. When the coast was
clear they came out, Lacus and others telling her to come with them as Meer
reached for Kira's hand she noticed, a gun pointed right at Lacus, Meer
rushed in and protected Lacus, dying for her idol.
Lying on the ground an
injured Meer, asked Lacus before her passing, not to forget her and her
song, apologizing to the others. Lacus torn apart by Meers death and
feeling responsible, gave Meer a coffin full of flowers and a beautiful
light pink dress to wear, Lacus whispering you wont be forgotten.
