Meer Campbell
Relationships
Meer Campbell and Gilbert Dullindal:
This relationship is one of give and take. Gilbert gave Meer an opportunity to be
something she only dreamed of, and in return Gilbert the Plants chairman,
got a Lacus to control, and having a controlled Lacus meant having the
control of the Plants. His intention from the start, was to manipulate Meer.
See Gilbert couldn't manipulate Lacus Clyne, so instead he created his own
Lacus, and decided to kill off the real one.
Though he used Meer, he never
treated her wrong, he respected and encouraged her, telling her with his
convincing words, that she was the one who was saving and giving hope to the
people of the Plants. Meer in turn believed in Gilbert's words and did her
best to please him.
Meers loyalty to him is quite remarkable. She believes
in him, so much that when even Athrun tries to persuade her
to come with him she didn't, because of what he gave her.
She was often with him, and she thought of him as a kind person, who just
wanted to do the right thing, never blamed him for his intentions
even though she knew it wasn't she who he needed, it was Lacus Clyne.
In the end, Gilbert gave Meer, a dream come true.
Meer Campbell and Sarah:
Sarah was in charge of Meer when Gilbert put her into hiding, because
the 'real' Lacus had made herself known to the public. Sarah had very
manipulative words and constantly addressed Meer as 'Lacus-sama'.
When she heard of the Archangel that had docked on Copernicus, she was
convinced that the 'real' Lacus was on board. She explained to Meer
that they/she should do something about it.
Meer sent a letter addressed to
Lacus with her red haro, claiming she would be killed and needed Lacus'
help. Even though Lacus knew it was a trap she went any way, because Meer had
asked her for help. When Lacus and the gang arrived
Sarah waiting on the ground with a gun pointed towards Lacus aims to kill
her but Birdie alerts Athrun and she is unable to kill Lacus. When Athrun
fights off the assassins Lacus and Meer come out of hiding, only to find a
half dead Sarah aiming a gun to Lacus, Meer steps in and dies in
Lacus' place.
What Sarah did for Meer was help her corrupt her, mind even more then she already
had. She saw Meer in emotional pain struggling between reality and fantasy
and yet she encouraged Meer to keep dreaming telling her she is Lacus. Sarah
confused Meer even more, ultimately ended up taking her life.
